Shadestar RiverClan forty-one moons m a l e - - - - - - Shadestar's thick, dark fur clings to his huge, muscular body. He's known for his massive size, making small kits almost fearful of their leader. His paws are just as big, reinforced with sharp, stinging claws. Equipped with a thick tail perfect for propelling him in the water, he is almost the dream RiverClan cat. Thank StarClan they have such a strong leader...
Shadestar comes off a strong and prideful cat, almost to the point of arrogance. Perhaps he is. He does not often speak to his warriors or treat them as anything too valuable to him. He considers himself one of the strongest cats in the forest... who wouldn't? Shadestar has his close circle of friends and the rest are scared into submission. He has had multiple mates ever since he became a warrior, many of RiverClan are now even his kin.
He has a frustrating complex raging inside him. Although he feels pride and compassion to his Clan and an unbearable amount of loyalty, he cannot find it in himself to express any of this. While, yes, it is true he does not care for any of his warriors and thinks many of them unworthy of their warrior titles like a more maternal leader may, he is still proud to call them his warriors. Does that make sense? It hardly makes sense to Shadestar himself. He is practiced at ignoring his conflicting feelings and continuing to rule his Clan with an iron fist.
His feelings toward non-Clanborn cats remain a secret to every cat except his deputy. He does not appreciate them and while most other warriors don't either, he thinks it is better for him to remain as unbiased as he can be. He would most likely refuse to accept a loner or kittypet into RiverClan and make up an excuse that they have too many mouths to feed already. He often feels bad about his opinions but cannot change him, which brings out his sensitive side. While well hidden and never brought out, it remains there. Doubt and confusion pricking every decision he makes.
Shadestar was always the best. He was made an apprentice at 5 and a half moons due to his size and dedication (and he wouldn't leave anyone be until he was). Once apprenticed, he nearly taught his mentor. He was made a warrior when he was 10 moons old along with a couple of other cats when the Clan was in dire need for more warriors. Shadestar always thought it was because he was that good. He was thrown into everything too soon. He seemed confident and prepared on the outside on purpose. His ambition. He was appointed deputy when he was around 27 moons old. Shadestar was overcome by the strange thirst of power. He wanted to rule, yet a small part of him never wanted to be noticed.. He became leader when he was 35 moons old. That was when he realized he had no idea what he was doing.
