h a r l e m Dark clouds gathered, blotting out the sky. Although the soaking wet she-cat could tell by her internal clock it must be twilight, she would otherwise be lost. How strange it must be, she thought, to not ever know the time. Despite being a rogue like she was, she had somewhat of a schedule. The silver and gray she-cat shuddered, long legs skirting around clumps of weeds and avoiding the damper parts of the ground. While the entire marsh was totally saturated, she could still see the driest route in the gloom. The rain was not working to her advantage. While normally she could casually walk through any territory as long as she kept her nose alert, this was different. Scents were harder to pick up. Now she still blatantly passed through each territory just perhaps a bit more on edge.
She glanced at the familiar old Sycamore, charred branches weeping with the effort to stay standing in the rain. The scent of ShadowClan was obvious here as she was near camp. Harlem passed by camp just to leave her scent tauntingly close to her ex-Clan's heart. She knew they'd up the patrols now because they saw her and any other rogue as a threat, and did she get satisfaction out of toying with these silly Clan cats.
"Oh, I'm so loyal, my Clan means everything! StarClan said so!" she muttered under her breath, mocking the Clans' lifestyle in an exaggerated voice. Sometimes she just had to smirk at her cleverness. Snaking through the bracken just outside camp, her wet fur too flattened to get caught slid right past. She glanced through the nettles, hoping to maybe catch a glance of the camp. Nothing. Slightly disappointed, she pushed onward. Her daughter, although she left her when she was just a kit, was in there somewhere unless she had died already. And although she did not miss her - she abandoned her for a reason - she was still curious how she had gotten on and what she was like. But she'd never have to find out.
Veering away from camp into the marsh, through the haze of rain and gray she could make out the small shack that was Carrionplace. The thought of soaked, old remains turned her off immensely, her growling stomach did not care. She hadn't eaten in days, having had to avoid a RiverClan patrol right on the stepping stones then outrun some WindClan cats, she was only just now making it back to her marsh. ShadowClan's marsh. She sniffed around carefully, suddenly dropping low to the ground when she picked up the scent of ShadowClan looming closer. She knew that her silver and gray pelt would best blend in in these type of conditions but her scent was trailed all over and she'd be easy to track. Holding her breath, she slinked along through the short grass just hoping the warrior wouldn't notice her. If confrontation was necessarily she wouldn't complain but if it could be avoided, all the better.
